New Hire Feedback Sample Commentary

Employee Onboarding Survey Sample Feedback

It’s easy to understand the benefits of new hire employee onboarding surveys; however, reading real comments by new hires can help you to envision how their specific feedback provides greater value.

Below are actual responses from an actual (anonymous) new hires from a variety of company’s new hire feedback survey from HSD.

  • Question

What is most difficult or challenging to you in performing your job?

  • Response

Knowing who to contact for certain situations, outside of what I can assist with.

  • Response

Trying to keep up with all of the reports and online requirements.

  • Response

There is not enough time in the day to complete my daily tasks. This may be due to the fact that our department focuses on providing excellent customer service and we give our undivided attention to each of our customers.

  • Response

Keeping up with the steady workload.

  • Question

What help or information would you like that you currently are not receiving?

  • Response

It’s difficult to learn the business because there aren’t documented processes, you have to ask other people and you get different responses depending on who you talk to.

  • Response

    Perhaps a 30, 60 & 90 day semi-official ‘check-in’.

  • Response

Onsite training for improvement and advancement.

  • Response

I stay pretty current with the ongoings of XYZ, Inc. The quarterly meetings and emails are all very helpful in keeping in touch with status of the company, product line, etc.

  • Question

What suggestions do you have for improving the new hire process and experience at XYZ, Inc.?

  • Response

With reps that have more than 4 years experience, the training process should be shortened.

  • Response

A workshop to go over all benefits.

  • Response

I would offer new hire orientation more frequently than what is being done currently. I had it after being here already for a good period of time. So it was covering things I already knew.

  • Response

I started as a temp and then went full time after 3 months. It was then 2 months before I received orientation. I could have used that closer to my hire date.
